A really surprising thing happend in October 2001. Compaq ran a radio ad in the Netherlands with OpenVMS as one of the main topics. Since most people will not be able to believe this without some kind of proof you can find a audio-clip of the ad here.

If you do not want to miss out the birthday party...
VMS V1.0 was released October, 25th 1977. And since VMS is of age since a couple of years already you are even allowed to bring Champagne ;-)
