The VAXBOOK was written by Joseph
E. St. Sauver at the University of Oregon as an introduction to the
VAX/VMS system at this location.
Although the book contains some site specific information and does not
cover the latest and greatest features of OpenVMS (it was written in 1990)
it does cover all the essentials one has to know to work successfully with
an OpenVMS system also nowadays. The
original distribution
is still available from the Univeristy of Oregon.
For convenience you can get a
zip-file with the
source of the book and some utilities and a
Postscript version also
from here.
