Compression program with very high compression ratio. Becomes increasingly popular.

Comes as a tar-gz file.

The version from this server is the OpenVMS port of bzip2. The filename handling is similar to the one of gzip, albeit admittely much more crude. All the changes necessary to port the program are submitted to the author.

Information is due to version 1.0.3.

This version also runs on Linux.
